Lee wrote us “… then I heard the voice of Oprah Winfrey (on the phone), the woman I grew up relating to.  Her show had recently debuted on XM radio. Oprah asked me to share with her about my life challenges.  I told her that I had experienced many grueling disappointments in 2006; the loss of a job, relationship heartache, and money issues.

In spite of all of these tough times, I shared with Oprah that that I took a huge leap of faith and financed my Christian Life Coaching training (at PCCCA).  I spoke about how I didn't let all the storms around me (negative people, lack of money, etc.) get in my way.
She said, ”Lee, my goodness, for a 25- year old you have such wisdom.” I told her I always knew I would get to communicate with her and that God was winking at me in the special moment of this connection.”

Thirty odd years ago, God provided me a glimpse of my coaching gifts. I went on to become a counselor, educator, trainer, advisor, and coach for most of the years that followed. The Holy Spirit worked through me off and on, but God had not yet made clear his purpose for me. Then, as is His custom, God, in His glorious wisdom turned my life upside down over and over again, with the Holy Spirit saving me until I was prepared for the Potter’s hand to mold me for His Glory.

Nine months ago, God reminded me of that moment He showed me His original plan for coaching. I began researching coaching academies, communicating with coaches, until the day He informed me I would not be a secular coach, but a Christian Coach. In complete awe and trusting in Him, I gave the little money I had and begun the journey with PCCCA. It was a rough start and I began to be plagued with challenges. I was reading everything I could get my hands on, praying and studying His Word. Despite that, I was having problems finding the help I was seeking. I began to doubt that I could provide for those He directed to me and shared my doubts with God. From that moment, He opened me to His Desires and His Word.

I thought it would take some time to open up to working with the Holy Spirit, as I had in the past. From the first moments of my practicum, I felt God working with my clients in all His Glory. When those first sessions were over, I was struck with awe and my heart was so full of joy and thanks for the gifts He entrusted to me, that tears of joy spilled forth.

My trainer, Pastor Florine Milligan, MCLC, supported me through it all. I know Pastor Florine prayed for me and I lift her up in thanks and praise her for her help. Even with all of my previous training, it has not been easy, but God and the Holy Spirit have lifted any doubt that lingered and filled my heart with peace for the work to come.

Then I received toe following email testimonial from a client expressing the power of the outcome of the brief work we did together through the Holy Spirit. It read: “You’re amazing, amazing! May our awesome God bless you immensely. FOUR THOUSAND THANKS. Your help has been invaluable!”

Of course, this is all God’s work. He has an amazing plan through PCCCA and I feel blessed to be a part of it. It will change you. Praise God!

Now here I am end of January 2007, writing my testimony about this journey. I would have never made it if it wasn’t for Aricelys, my trainer and her many, many prayers, words of encouragement and a few much needed reality checks. I have no doubt in my mind that the Lord hand picked her for my specific personality and situation. I will be eternally grateful for her presence in my life during this process. I can still hear her voice in my head telling me to keep moving forward and to keep striving for the things that God has in store for me. Even more, I am thankful to the Lord for bringing me to this program. Throughout this experience He has been teaching me so much about myself it’s mind-blowing. Being coached has allowed me to see what has been holding me back from what God has for me for so long, me. I realize now that, though the enemy has been distracting me and throwing things in my way, the real battle has been within me. I have battled my fears, my insecurities and my past to just get to this point. So its time for me to act on some of the things He has been showing me and to take another step of faith by turning in my application for certification.

I know that the end of this battle is just the beginning for me. It was almost like a test to see if I was really committed to moving forward or if I was going to give up, again. But, I can’t give up and I will not chicken out. I am ready to work through my fears, I am moving past my insecurities and everyday I am letting go more and more of my past.

The completion of this course is the beginning of many things. God placed a vision inside of me long ago to start an organization that would give women a place to safely learn about themselves, learn about Christ, and learn from each other. That in turn will cause them to learn from what they have been through and learn of what the lord would do with their knowledge. I believe this is the beginning of the realization of my God-given vision and I’m a thankful to PCCCA for being the vehicle the Lord used to get things started.

I just wanted to touch bases with you to share how God has blessed my life since graduating PCCCA.

First of all, I created a program called "Choice Of Action" that my church now offers as part of their post care program for their Kairos program (www.gatewaypeople.com) which is an intense two day healing and deliverance ministry. God told me to offer the course twice as first fruits and this third class just blew me away when people were actually writing checks out to Heartsong (name of my coaching practice). I am now in the process of creating a program for youths, ages 11-15 called "Inside Out" based on scripture utilizing life skills to make good choices. In addition, I now write a column for my local newspaper called Coaching Corner and my first article comes out this week. And that is not all, the pastoral care department at my church refers many new clients to me and it just keeps growing.

I want to thank you and Aricelys (my trainer) again, for not only doing what you are doing, but using the wisdom God has giving to PCCCA and those who run the program and work for PCCCA.

My vision of becoming a Life Coach began to reveal itself in 2002. I researched some coaching schools at that time – none seemed to be the right fit. In hindsight, I see it wasn’t the right time, either. God had more for me to experience and learn! Some positive life changes required my focus from 2003 – June 2006. From time to time during this period, I thought of my vision, but didn’t take steps forward. I was asking God to clarify my purpose. One day in June, my copy of the book “Jesus Life Coach” sort of “jumped off the bookshelf” at me! God was really trying to get my full attention! I knew it was time for me to get started on my coaching certification.

I began searching for Christian life coach training and was led to PCCCA’s website! The content of the site, and a brief telephone conversation with Dr. Bush, affirmed I was at the right place, at the right time! God’s place in God’s timing! Rev. Evan Bush was my Trainer – what a privilege for me! His supportive presence and enthusiasm for my vision helped propel me forward! Thank you, Rev. Bush!

I attended the 2006 Renewal Conference in November and met and spent time with all of the Trainers. They are all wonderful people, dedicated to glorifying God in everything they do. Over the years, God has blessed me with circumstances that were uniquely equipping me and preparing my heart to help people.  I spent nearly two years praying about how I was to help.  One day, in the midst of an online search, I was directed to PCCCA's website.  Upon researching Christian coaching, and comparing PCCCA with other programs, the Lord made it clear that I was to pursue coach training, and with PCCCA in particular.

To God be all the glory for great things He has done!  Since the fall of 2003, I have visited the PCCCA website watching it evolve, praying, comparing the PCCCA training program to that of other schools, and contemplating whether or not to enroll.  Well God's timing is perfect timing and on March 16, 2006, the Lord said "yes" and released me to enroll in this anointed program.  From my initial call to master Christian life coach Derla Libby, I knew that this was a divine connection.  Coach Libby is an anointed armor-bearer. As a born again Christian, I spent time praying and seeking the Lord to find the right training to become a life coach.  I searched around the Internet and also asked several of my friends that are already psychologists, as well as coaches.  There didn't seem to be any schooling that would give me a Christian perspective in coaching.  I even sought the counsel of my pastor.

Then I was quite pleased to find (PCCCA) Professional Christian Coaching and Counseling Academy.  The course work is designed to first coach you in optimizing your own life, then working to help others.  I have always felt that if your life is not in some sort of organization, it's hard to be of help to others.

Once I got started with the course work, my life began to change in a positive way.  I also spent several days fasting and praying.  This course work became more effective in my personal life.  As a result of the training, I have been able to help others with their life and to help them seek the Lord in a more fervent manner.

For years I’d prayed for God to show me what he wanted me to do in life, and I never felt like I got an answer. Then one day last June I heard part of a TV commercial that said,”…we’ll teach you everything you need to know to be a life coach…”. Life Coaching was never something I had ever considered doing, but that phrase just kept echoing inside of me. Based on my past experiences with God, I immediately recognized that echoing message was God’s word to me, and I got excited.

When I looked up the website from the local school that had done the commercial and found out that they also taught other New Age courses, I decided to search specifically for a Christian Life Coach training program. That’s when I found PCCCA. I must have read everything twice, then printed it all out and highlighted things to show my husband. But first, I prayed about it alone and set it aside for a couple of days. When the echoing message didn’t quiet down, I shared it with my husband who also prayed about and waited a few days. A few weeks later, with his blessing, I enrolled and began my journey to doing what God created me to do!

It’s as though the course materials were written specifically for me! Working through the “Who I am in Christ” scriptures in session four was a real turning point for me in gaining the sense of confidence and authority that God intends for all his people. In reading the textbook every week I would see more and more of myself- I had been coaching people all along, I just didn’t know it, and now I am equipped to coach more effectively.

So many times in the past I’d read self-help-type books, but since I never did the work, I never got much out of them. The weekly phone call to my trainer, Rev. Evan Bush was the one thing that ensured that I actually did the work. I know that if I had not had Rev. Bush to hold me accountable, my books would simply be collecting dust somewhere amongst all the others. After getting over my initial nervousness and uncertainty, I found Evan to be very easy to talk to and full of practical wisdom. Evan, thank you for your encouragement and for believing in me!

I have found this coaching experience to be fulfilling and enlightening. The most valuable aspect of the program for me has been learning first hand the value of working with a coach. She (My trainer, Pastor Milligan) allowed me the time to express personal insights and ideas and provided rich and pertinent feedback. She also challenged me to do more and push myself beyond my old, stale comfort zones. I am moving a little more slowly than I want to be moving, but the key there is “ I am moving” and going beyond a few stuck places that have held me back.

Recently I embarked on a Diploma of secular Coaching and found some of the teaching methods somewhat confusing and contradictory to my Christian beliefs. One example of this was when a candidate wanted to produce an advertisement which was untruthful and therefore was misleading the public with false promises of money. The course trainer was encouraging this and was teaching him and us methods on reprogramming your brain (some NLP methods) This process was intended for the candidate to see the possibilities and potential in a new light that is, creativity in their terms!

As a Christian, I became extremely uncomfortable both with the aspect of the method of changing mind and also the ethics of deceiving the public. I came away knowing that I could not just continue with the above mentioned course without knowing where God fits in. I started to investigate Christian coaching and found your Academy (www.pccca.org) and was drawn to the fact that it was a Spirit– led Coaching course.

Having completed the PCCCA Certification, I have reviewed my values and beliefs and am very certain of the principles and guidelines that I want to coach under. I totally believe that in order to help somebody realize their own potential, I as the coach have to be in close relationship with God and also live my life accordingly. People’s lives are too precious for them to be going in the wrong direction and I see my coaching as a way of helping them to achieve their goals and dreams.
